The New Defense is a distinctive contemporary urban expansion in which the former Defense site in the Merwedekanaalzone is being transformed into a recognizable and surprising residential environment.

Transformation

+ The spatial structure has been carefully designed with flexibility in the floor plans and space for individual housing needs. The pleasant transitions from private to public space create a high degree of social safety and comfort.
+ With a wide mix of homes, combined with workspaces in specific places, a future-oriented living environment is created with a perfect balance between tranquillity and activity.

Climate

+ Green as a carrier: The plan is designed in a sustainable and climate-adaptive way with a high degree of intensive greenery in the (semi) public space and green solutions at height.
