We changed

Designed the school layout as "teaching islands" (Archipelago concept) for better light, ventilation, and nature integration, while restoring the original natural slope of the site.

Transformation

+ Turned the school campus into a bridge between urban life and mountain nature.
+ Transformed an artificially altered terrain back to its natural state.
+ Innovated a shared, flexible use model for educational and community spaces, blending public and private functions.

Climate

+ Responded to the southern China climate by creating shaded, ventilated spaces (Wind Trail, Cool Garden).
+ Natural ventilation supported by dominant mountain winds flowing along the school’s main pathway.

Collaboration

+ MLA+ and Fabersociety collaborated closely for an integrated architecture, landscape, and interior design.
+ Created management systems that enable shared use of facilities between the school and the wider community, fostering civic engagement.
