We changed

The MLA+ team proposed a reconfiguration of the existing built environment, under the motto “10.000 new homes, zero new buildings”.

Transformation

+ From 57m2 to 37m2 per person = 10.000 new homes.
+Old and new homes could be supported by a total of 69.453 m2 of amenities, distributed on a building level to be shared amongst the tenants.
+This system would support the emergence of communities sharing mobility, utensils, energy, waste infrastructure, and a lot more.

Climate

+ A solution to cut CO2 emissions from the construction industry while providing 10.000 new homes.

Collaboration

+To collaborate on the largest model of the Netherlands ever built, the Ministerie van Maak invited 100 practitioners to design masterplans accommodating 10.000 new homes in 100 selected sites around the country.
