We changed

Our design focuses on a problem-oriented acupuncture-style improvement rather than a drastic re-construction. We proposed three upgrading strategies: RE-STITCHING, RE-NATURALIZE, and RE-ENFORCE, to give Shenzhen Bay Park a new life.

Transformation

+ We propose a re-construction of all park networks. Strategic network additions, transformation and widening of existing path systems, and increased integration of smart infrastructure are the basis to upgrade the whole park and maximize its future potential.
+ The park quality improvement plan matches with the upcoming urban development. Our design leaves sufficient room to effectively integrate with future, in order to form a continuously evolving park.
+ Five key nodes will create the most dazzling new vision of the Shenzhen Bay.

Climate

+ We propose an evolutional strategy “Growing Coastline”. The “Growing Coastline” can adapt to climate changes, avoiding the need to upgrade and strengthen the coastal defense system again after ten years.
+ By conserving nature and forming a resilient shoreline Shenzhen Bay Park will maximize its role as a city's “lifeline”. The recreated natural environment will become a home for diverse animals and plants, as well as an attractive place for people.
