We changed

The Kramerareal is transformed from an underused site into a lively, future-proof mixed residential quarter with a balanced structure combines an active urban heart with quieter, green residential areas.

Transformation

+ The area evolves into a cohesive neighborhood featuring four distinct spatial sequences, each with its own atmosphere.
+ Public spaces are reshaped into a connected, lively network of squares and paths linked to the natural surroundings.
+ A strong relationship with the lake and surrounding landscape is re-established.

Climate

+ Water management: Rainwater is stored on rooftops and in open spaces; surface evaporation is used to create a pleasant microclimate.
+ Climate resilience: The design buffers water in both rainy and dry periods and reduces sealed surfaces to support groundwater infiltration.
+ Biodiversity and microclimate: Preservation and strengthening of natural ecosystems (urban biotope, meadow landscape, forest zone) enhance local climate conditions.

Collaboration

+ Community involvement is embedded in the design: The project fosters social interaction with spaces for collective uses (e.g., gardens, workshops, community rooms).
