We changed

The former Hammersmith military barracks are being transformed into a vibrant new residential district, while consciously retaining and enhancing the site's original landscape and built qualities. The layout is opened up with publicly accessible green spaces, community squares, and integrated pedestrian networks, encouraging interaction and accessibility.

Transformation

+ A continuous green corridor now forms the spine of the development, linking local recreational zones (Stuckenberg and Langenberg) and creating a high-quality landscape identity.
+ A strategically located neighborhood plaza forms a social heart and urban interface between residential life and public function.
+ Three Neighborhoods – One Vision

Climate

+ The existing topography and mature tree stock are retained and celebrated, avoiding over-engineering and reducing carbon-intensive interventions.
+ The central green belt supports urban ecology, cooling, and active mobility

Collaboration

+ Community-Informed Planning: The design builds on key outcomes of the 2014 public consultation.
+ A shared vision between public planners, architects, and developers brings together education (Campus), housing, and commerce, forming an urban synergy across the two former barrack sites.
