We changed

We transformed Fushan from an ecologically fragile, overlooked mountain into a resilient, people-oriented Mountain-Sea Central Park, where nature leads the renewal and citizens co-create its future.

Transformation

+ From isolated mountain to Mountain-Sea Central Park: ecological core + community recreation + urban interface.
+ From passive nature to interactive co-governance: nature conservation tied to cultural-tourism engagement.
+ Trail system rebuilt with three levels of routes (short-term green ring, medium-term thematic routes, long-term "floating cloud" ridge connections).

Climate

+ Water management and resilience: restored catchment corridors, enhanced wetland habitats, optimized vegetation communities.
+ Flood control integrated into landscape design: a resilient mountain toolbox was created that links flood prevention and ecological restoration.
+ Native ecosystem revival: gradual replacement of monoculture forests with diverse native habitats to improve overall climate adaptation.

Collaboration

+ Co-governance model: scientists, managers, citizens, and tourists collaborate on ecological restoration (e.g., invasive species management).
