We changed

The Mangrove Wetland Museum is not just a structure placed within a wetland—it is an ecological agent. The architecture emerges directly from the logic and morphology of mangroves, our design represents a shift from isolated design to immersive ecological integration.

Transformation

+ Green building technologies take cues from natural filtration systems, shaping indoor climate through passive design.
+ The museum captures the form and logic of mangroves—roots, trunks, branches—in a spatial language that mirrors the wetland it honors.

Climate

+ Sunlight and rain are filtered, just like through mangrove canopies. The building’s porous skin acts as a passive climate modulator.
+ Water management strategies align with species’ life cycles, linking ecological rhythms with built infrastructure.

Collaboration

+ The Mangrove Wetland Museum was shaped through close collaboration between MLA+ and local teams, blending global vision with site-specific knowledge.
