MLA+ project recognised in the Conceptual | Masterplanning & Urban Design category

MLA+ is proud to share that Shanghai Midtown Belt has been shortlisted for the 2026 WLA Professional Awards in the Conceptual | Masterplanning & Urban Design category.

Organised by World Landscape Architecture, the WLA Awards recognise outstanding work in landscape architecture, urban design, and public realm projects from around the world. The shortlist highlights projects that address the urgent challenges facing cities today, from climate adaptation and ecological resilience to social value, liveability, and long-term urban transformation.

Shanghai Midtown Belt reflects MLA+’s ongoing commitment to creating city-scale frameworks where landscape, mobility, public space, and urban life are integrated into one coherent vision. The project explores how a major urban corridor can become more than infrastructure: a connected civic landscape that supports everyday life, strengthens ecological performance, and creates new spatial identity for the city.

This recognition is an important moment for the project team and all collaborators involved. Congratulations to all shortlisted teams.
