Project

The Saratov agglomeration in Russia comprises the city of Saratov and its surrounding municipalities, with a total area of about 11,000 km². The challenge was to develop a spatial development strategy that supports compact growth, preserves natural landscapes, and fosters economic diversification. The strategy emphasizes a polycentric structure with multiple centers of growth, improved transportation links, and integrated green corridors. It also identifies key zones for industrial, residential, and recreational development. Public participation and collaboration with regional authorities played an important role in shaping the strategy.
