Project

For the Shanghai Midtown project, we delivered a comprehensive metropolitan-scale urban planning solution that supports Shanghai’s long-term development vision. Our work positioned Midtown as a strategic connecting ring between the city’s middle belt and core urban area, shaping a resilient framework for the next thirty years of growth.

We provided integrated services covering strategic planning, ecological framework design, infrastructure coordination, and urban image development. The proposal addressed key challenges at the city scale: integrating blue–green ecological systems with urban life, linking innovation with industry, and elevating standards for quality living.

We developed the Midtown Model as a clear planning concept and branding framework—Grand in vision, Joyful in living—to guide urban regeneration across transforming zones. Our team defined a core ecological space through the Jade & Gold strategy, turning green infrastructure into an open, shared urban living interface. We also designed an energy belt supported by major infrastructure and a multidimensional mobility network, enabling synergy across three key districts and activating research, industry, and governance as growth drivers. Finally, we shaped the city’s visual and experiential identity, enhancing skyline, waterfront, and public spaces to create a recognizable and emotionally engaging urban image.

This winning project demonstrates our ability to deliver strategic, integrated, and visionary urban planning solutions at the Shanghai metropolitan scale.
