Around the world the rising tech companies are coming back to the city centre seeking proximity to urban life. Looking back to the development of Shenzhen however, science and technology areas never overlapped with the urban centre. Qianhai Unit 8 & 10 will provide this unique opportunity! Here a new urban development model will for the first time bring cross-disciplinary innovation in technology and culture and form a future creative hub. Qianhai Unit 8 & 10 offers rich natural resources between mountain and bay. At the centre of the site is a three-dimensional green corridor that links the mountain and sea. Working together with the green buildings on both sides to slow down runoff and store rainwater, which greatly reduces the threat of flooding within the site, and forms a multi-dimensional ecological environment. The green corridor is also the core of public life, connecting important cultural infrastructure within the site. Future Cultural Park will be more than just a landmark, by taking on the roles of both spreading culture and serving the public. In our proposal “Qianhai MORE”, we put forward three statements: More than a City, More than a Landmark, and More than a Neighborhood.
