Project

The iconic shape of the windmills of Schiedam, of which there are still six, have been the source of inspiration for the design of S'MAAK. This seventh giant combines high-quality living for 75 'millers' an working with a unique plinth program for local ‘tastemakers’ offering special products of Schiedam. S’MAAK – a new landmark with a recognizable hint to Schiedam's past.

The Kop van de Singel – currently still in use as a parking and playing field – will thus become a welcoming city entrance, where you immediately feel and see that you are in Schiedam. As part of the new SchieDistrict area development it will form the new link between the station and the city center, a lively place where residential, business and leisure reinforce each other.
