Project

The plan area is characterised by the transition from medium-density residential development to open landscape space. The high density of buildings envisaged in the design allows for an attractive connection between denser building structures and open landscape. The project forms a new urban edge, where the urban fabric meets the nature and offers a possibility to combine calmness of living in the countryside with the advantages of a lively urban neighborhood.
For this special location at the urban edge of Munich we wanted to create the space which can be experienced as a sequence of different atmospheres, qualities and intensities. With that in mind, we propose to divide the new quarter into three different spatial sequences – the Market passage at the entrance to the neighborhood, the Neighborhood street as a backbone of the development, and the green as a green fringe along the edge of the neighborhood.
