Together with Floating Farm, MLA+ was invited to envision a possible future of the floating technology. By making use of a water footprint, we spark the potential to add public space for high-dense cities, urban attration for common neighborhood, production facility to promote high quality food in city center where in short of land, and so on.

The module uses 20x30 meters as a base with opportunity for expansion. 600sqm is an ideal footprint to accommodate urban programs which generate enormous value for high-dense cities. So do residential and office for private interests. The floating platform brings out a new possibility within reach. In a low carbon future, logistic is already a hot topic in the modern society.

Our proposal takes place in the coastline of Dubai. The challenge would be its hot and humid weather: how can we formulate a dry and cool environment for spatial comfort and where can we find cold in a middle-east water environment? Sea had become the clear solution for the floating platform. Our design incorporate the temperature of sea water into our structure. Series of structure components are embedded with high-transmissive materials which become a circular system for heat exchange.
