“Happy Garden City” is located on the central axis of the seventh national level new district of China. Xi’an’s western extension surrounds the location of an even more ancient capital of China.
“Happy Garden City” combines the best of a suburban garden city and a bustling urban area. It includes as main anchor two tourism and entertainment destinations, the strength of Shenzhen based developer OCT. Our urban design proposal takes a unique human perspective. Existing and new residents, future visitors and tourists are the main target groups for “Happy Garden City”. The overall structure is subdivided into a fine grain of 200x100m residential blocks, based on the structure of historic Xi’an. The layout of the anchor plots follows the flow of people living, working or visiting the future district.
To convey the qualities of our proposal, we produced a multimedia presentation that highlights the experiences of the future residents and visitors of “Happy Garden City”.
