Project

Following the successful tender for the regeneration along G107, the team was invited to draw up ideas for a multifaceted redevelopment of wider Fenghuang Town. The starting point is rather complex: A setting with great potential between water and hills, planned investment into public transport, but fragmented and irregular pieces of development land, little data of the informally developed area from the early days of Shenzhen and little understanding of the needs of the people of Fenghuang Town.

The team developed four groups of projects in collaboration with a OCT as potential development partner: Tourist oriented destinations at the foot of Fenghuang Mountain; innovation industry through warehouse transformation and new built; urban village upgrading with added arts center as city destination, and a lakefront entertainment and commercial development. A public space system holds this diverse and interesting regeneration area together.
