The fictional Ministerie van Maak (Ministry of Make) invited 100 practitioners to elaborate on the ongoing housing crisis in the Netherlands within the framework of the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR). All practitioners invited contributed developing a masterplan to accommodate 10.000 new units in a given area.
MLA+ was one of the invited practices and took this opportunity to challenge the assignment. The MLA+ team proposed a reconfiguration of the existing built environment, under the motto “10.000 new homes, zero new buildings”.
